Why does it offend you when Jesus says that he came down from heaven?It does not offend me, it is your unbiblical take on the meaning of what Jesus himself is referring to.

He was before -> Eph 3:9 - And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things:
John 17:5 - And now Glorify Me You, Father, with Yourself with Glory insofar held (I had) before-> the world -->existed->, with You.

This Glory, the likes of Eph, was held by none other than the Almighty God and Father before his plans for a world, came into being.
2 Tim 1:9 - Who hath saved us, and calledus with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

These people referred to in this Tim verse can rightfully asks God the following and YOU can NOT deny this TRUTH;
And now Glorify Me You, Father, with Yourself with Glory insofar held (I had) before-> the world -->existed->, with You.

On you line of thinking and if you going to be consistent, then YOU are saying these people Pre-existed which is NOT of God, likewise, Jesus did Not pre-exist.


Prior to your quote, Jesus says he is the Bread that came down = the Bread -> Titus 1:2 - In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before time eternal;
This is the Bread from Heaven Jesus says -> John 12:49 - For I have not spoken of myself ->(The Word, Luke 8:12-13); but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

And these words, the Bread -> John 6:68 - Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.1 Peter 1:23 - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
