Because their huge portfolios were booming of course!!.....lol
Do you really need me to explain why they were protesting. It is all fairly simple really.....you know....you could work it out for yourself if you really tried!!
Simply because the pensioners that are really batlling expected more of the Labor Party. They wouldn't have even bothered getting out of bed to protest against Howard. What possible use would there have been!
When Labor brought down its first budget, the pensioners were expecting relief after years of painful battling. Finally they thought that some relief was in sight. And when it didn't come to the extent that they needed, they protested.
Just think how much money we could give the pensioners if we hadn't wasted all that money on the Iraq war, or on Brendan's useless aircraft, or maybe...just maybe.....the Liberals might agree to the luxury car tax if the Labs agree to give the money to pensioners. Doubt it.
Let's not insult pensioners any further with ridiculous, shameless, insincere claims of hollow concern. The fact is, they have been neglected for too long, and if we were to try to take the money away from luxurious areas to give to the pensioners, the Liberals would be the first to cry about it.
