"On 13 January 2020, Mr Hogan advised that Tangier had informed him that, during a 3.5-hour
teleconference held between Tangier, Homeland Security and the US Federal Reserve, a Tangier
representative was told the investigation was almost complete and that best-case funds would be
in the IGP bank account by Thursday 16 January if everything goes well. "
Doesn't the US Treasury and finCEN handle investigations relating to international money transfers in the US? I remember when Afterpay was facing money laundering issues, analysts here were saying stuff like, watch out for finCEN, they take money laundering pretty seriously.
Also does it strike anyone else as odd that employees from the US Federal Reserve and Homeland Security would schedule a 3.5 hour teleconference with a business to discuss an any sort of an investigation? It just seems like some strange fantasy to me.
A lot of bizarre stuff in IGE's latest announcement. Like the part where Hogan sort of suggested that Trump -- that is, the President of the United States -- would personally intervene if the funds transfer were held up:
"From: Stephen Hogan
To: Paul Dickson; Stuart Clark; TP gmail; Troy Flowers; Ron Ehlinger; Matthew Macaluso; Mike Shindelar; Pete
Wagoner; Debbie Hogan
Subject: ADIA funds

Team,
Yesterday the partial transfer was ready to go. Apparently Homeland was well on their
way completing the investigation. The Department head put a stop to the transfer. She
was afraid the partial would slow down the process. She has a hard date to make the full
transfer before the end of the year. I am speculating that Trump will do one of his famous
"Your fired" if this does not happen. "
I don't know how anyone can just accept all this stuff at face value without being at least even slightly skeptical. All will be revealed by mid February, although I fear it doesn't look good for IGE shareholders.
