Can others here explain the short positions ? @RM8 ?
Shortman said -
28/1 - there were 266,805 shares short out of 1M
29/1 - there were 220,405 shares short out of 1M
30/1 - there were 199,005 shares short out of 1M
31/1 - there were 170,405 shares short out of 1M
So that's 96,400 shares that would have to have been bought back over that 4 day period (which would have been one hell of a short covering rally !!) - but ASX says that total trades over that 4 day period were only 12,532.
Where did they buy the other 83,868 shares to reduce the shorts ?
Can they buy in US and Canada market to return the shorted stock ?
I have never shorted and don't know what is happening here.
Answers anyone ?
Cheers
