Make sure you understand ASX listing rule 7.1 and the takeover provisions in the Corporations Act (which MB posted a link to earlier). There are rules that limit the issue of new equity in a public company as well as the size stake a single party (inclusive of affiliated parties) can acquire before takeover provisions kick in. Once you've got your head around the rules, do the math based on current shares on issue, likely issue size x likely issue price (based on what you think will be needed to meaningfully fund the company going forward).
