My speciality is resources though I know how to read a balance sheet and think I understand the +/- between the REIT sector. What has worked well for me over the years is playing the "pricing discrepancies" that only occur on the edge of the herd. Smaller players, overlooked by major institutions throw up value more often than big caps because they are more illiquid and less followed.
