What about funds using long short strategies or risk arb. ..? Legitimate practices..... Could destroy complete confidence in the Australian market.....
Can move to the derivatives market...
This is very simplistic e.g. - Say a strategy of 70/30% long short fund means if they cover the short in the physical market on the pos. then they will also need to balance it by selling the long pos. ...
Could create more selling afterwards....
