Brilliant drilling results - out of about 100 holes there were only 4 that didn't return any significant result - that's one of hell of a success rate. These guys clearly have a very understanding of SLR's tenements which is good for discoveries and keeps exploration costs to a mimimum.
The Easter Hollows extension is part of the inferred resource that has a grade of 18g/t a tonne and has a plunge of one kilometre so it looks very promising.
Also exciting to see them talking about going underground at Karonie/Tank South at the Aldiss centre. All up means SLR has underground mines at
1) Daisy
2) Cock eye bob
3) Maxwells
4) Santa Fe
5)Deflector
6) Rothsays
with the potential of Karonie and Tank South to go underground.
Given all of these are open in more than one direction the future looks very promising with much potential for further mine extensions for years to come. Compared to their peers SLR isn't wasting millions in stripping on open pits - there is no substitute for high grade underground ore and SLR has plenty of options to explore.
Worth noting that French Kiss, the open pit currently being mined for the next two quarters has a grade of 3.6g/t and they are mining higher than that given the last quarter was of lower grade and higher than average stripping.
The inventory discussion was interesting - they have around 60,000 tonnes at a grade of 1.5g/t. This time last year it was around 1.22g/t so the added grade over the last 12 months is clearly higher - I expect to increase as a result of the high grade at French Kiss being added to it.
Interesting enough in the Dec 18 quarterly they said they expected to process this stockpile during FY20 and FY21 (see page 4 of Dec 18) but they haven't been able to do that which is a sign of how much higher grade ore they've had available to process.
Looking forward to further drilling results coming up from Deflector and seeing a 2 in front of the share price in the not too distant future.
