"well the pm runs the biggest business in australia...."

it is quite frightening to think that Australia as a nation and society is viewed as a "business".

In a business, you close down divisions that are not generating a profit. You chuck out the weakest links in your business. In running a business, you are interested only in activities that will make you a profit. In that scenario, there would be no social benifits for the unemployed, the disabled, the sick, the aged, as these people are not generating a "return" for the business. There will be no public transports. there will be no public schools. The list can go on.

Nah, a society is not a business, but businesses have a role to play in a society, so do arts, music, etc, and most of all, people.

Running a nation is much much more than running a business. It requires leaders who have a mix of skills other than just economics.
