Providing an incentive is not creating anything real.
Going short provides and incentive for the shorter to cause the market to fall further in order to profit.
I'm happy the shorting has ceased for a month. It will be interesting to see the overall effects (which I think will be positive longer term).
But let's not delude ourselves to thinking that anything other than primary market investment is creating anything real.
