Initially it needed to be demonstrated that the production process was robust and we haven't heard about any consistency/quality issues for quite a while, and QA has been deliberately improved. Next step was showing that the production process is scalable, and we are starting to see actual shipped quantities that confirm that. Another step is to make sure that we can sell the product, which in part is about quality and price, but also about credibility, reputation and network, which looking at the sudden increase in US volumes might be on the rise as well.

With these pieces coming together I think the idea should be seriously considered, at one scale or other. Have you made contact with the board? (That is, other than posting on HC!)
