Another thing worth considering...
IPR have deferred the decision about whether to pay a dividend, pending the outcome of this hearing.
But there will be no financial resolution in the next few days on this issue - just a decision on whether the German patent is valid or not.
Clearly if the earlier decision is overturned and the patent is reinstated, it opens the floodgates for a successful litigation against DT again.
But either way, IPR is not going to get any extra revenue NOW with which to pay a dividend (they have heaps of cash anyway). So the only impact a positive outcome would have on the dividend issue is how likely it is IPR will be receiving DT's money IN THE FUTURE. It will have no material effect on the ability to pay a dividend NOW.
So, they might as well cough up and pay a decent dividend anyway.
