I wonder if it is even possible to visit such a place as this and be completely uninfluenced by what one reads.... that is of course, unless the purpose of the visit is to be the influencer.

DYOR is very very good advice, but if everyone DYOR... what are we all doing here - if not fishing for some tidbit of information, or reassurance that we are on the right track.. or off the wrong track...

Unless...
we are here to boast of our winnings, or mourn of our losses, or beguile the willing and even the unwilling with our rampant tales of riches or despair!

...or the only other thing that comes to mind is ... alleviate boredom... and of course, have a laugh too :)

The above are all my reasons for being here anyway.
