DJ Leighton: Asia Unit Secures Coal Mining Contract In Mongolia25/09/2008 01:27PM AEST MELBOURNE (Dow Jones)--Leighton Holdings Ltd. (LEI.AU), the world's largest contract miner, said Thursday it has secured a mining contract for the Ukhaakhudag coal mine project in Mongolia.
The Ukhaakhudag coal deposit, which is being developed with Energy Resources LLC, sits adjacent to the Tavan Tolgoi deposit in the South Gobi region of Mongolia some 200 kilometers from the Chinese border and 540 kilometers from the Mongolian capital, the company said in a statement.
It didn't disclose the value of the contract.
