Purely my opinion from outside of Malaysia.

This is a ploy by Mahathir's supporters and Anwar's enemies to get around the transition of power to Anwar.

Mahathir's resignation nullifies his promise to transition the Prime Ministership. The new and more powerful coalition (139 as opposed to 112 majority) will then reinstate him as PM with no obligation. In fact, the new coalition will not even include Anwar so it will be anybody but him. Weirdly, the new coalition includes UMNO, one of the parties they ousted. Reading Al Jazeera, Anwar himself was talking about a conversation with Mahathir, where Dr M is saying.he has nothing to do with the current turmoil, and the he is not collaborating with previous opponents to orchestrate the unfolding events. Interesting that Anwar is saying this like he accepts it.

The good thing for us, is that Lim Guan Eng and DAP are likely big losers in this change. The less power DAP has, the better for us. Again- i hope they kick Sour Cow YBY to the curb in this change. She shouldn't be in charge of a chook raffle.let alone MESTECC. One way.or another, i hope she is out and we get a proper MESTECC minister.
