watso did a lot of work on the rhodes ridge tenements, in his younger years, so is half interested in the area. watso set out a lot of the grid lines, in the area, which were used for all sorts of reasons. at the time, the area was a joint venture with a company called "texas gulf sulphur" and "hancock and wright" (gosh could be wrong though). anyway, they had the best of exploration camps - it was like a motel , with swimming pool, and all the units were solid (ie made of concrete,or was it brick??). this is a long time ago, but watso seems to recall that texas gulf spent $3m (that would have been a lot of money then) on the exploration camp
