What everyone too scared to comment. Really this activism should not end up ruling the company. The country needs a policy - I agree. The country needs to adopt a slightly stretched target. The country needs to seek to influence business to get behind it and can even get companies to sign up to this process. However, what we cannot achieve through the ballot box should not now be attempted through a corporate board unless 75% sign up for it. Once voted on it should not come back for 5 years. This is the one time I will make sure my proxy vote is put in.

I really don't want my investment being wagged by an activist group. I don't want the board having to negotiate with an activist group as to what they should do. This gets through I take my investment and send it offshore. That is what the activists want.

249N requires 5% or 100 shareholders - I am guessing how this arises.

This company isn't Adani - I think gas has a very positive role to play to transition us away from coal but here it is getting the full bash.
