The plot thickens... this sounds very much to me like Bersatu president Muhyiddin could now become PM because he’s OK with UMNO where Dr M isn’t... and it’s Dr M putting it out there, even anointing him his successor...suits LYC holders just fine either way as it guarantees DAP fade away into history + Anwar can’t be PM...


Dr M: Muhyiddin possible candidate for PM, willing to accept Umno en-bloc
5.35pm - Interim prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad confirms with reporters that he had a discussion with Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin this afternoon.
He says the discussion include on the possibility of Muhyiddin becoming Bersatu's candidate to be the next prime minister.
"If everybody chooses him, I'm okay," says Mahathir, adding that he would accept if the majority of MPs chooses Muhyiddin.
Asked if this means that Bersatu would name two candidates, including himself, Mahathir says that the party has not come to a decision yet.
Mahathir says that he and Muhyididn have differing views on working with Umno.
"My position is, of course, I won't accept Umno as a component party.
"But Muhyiddin is a little bit more relaxed, quite prepared to accept them en bloc," he says.
