The easy way to call a derivative is like a bet that say for example silver is going to go down or wheat is going to go up. But as all bets you have to have two partys one to buy and a seller.
The USA derivative position is that they 5 major banks have $180 trillion which if you were to put dollars side by side they would go around the world 12 times that is alot of money and Buffet call them financail time bomb.
