The story was reported in the FIn review and I believe in the West also and the rumoured suitor was Pallinghurst.
The reason it never got much legs was because MGX was never actually mentioned at the start of the rumour, the initial rumour was that someone was looking at an IO company in the West and certain reporters then put 2 + 2 together and come up with 5 and thought MGX sounded like the go.
