A close relative of mine was a builder. Developed wrist problems (in one hand) from banging hammers all day. Twenty years ago got himself on the disability pension. Rented out the house (didn't declare for tax) and took himself around Australia pulling a caravan and living a carefree life with the missus in various tropical locations. Free this and free that, cheap rates, cheat phone, cheap electricity, free healthcare, free dental...blah blah blah.....
Point is, most people can do something useful. Since he was well enough to drive around Australia hitching and unhitching caravans he could have driven a taxi or done plenty of other jobs. Now he's on the computer all day surfing the net. Its a lazy scam for bludgers.
Almost 10% of our current workforce is on a disability pension. Something to celebrate?
