Meat consumption has been very important to overall grain demand although ethanol is now consuming grains that used to be thrown down the throat of animals.
The key to grain consumption and hence fertilizer demand is always now going to be ... *drum roll* ... the price of oil! Oil has fallen 30% but $100/barrel is still historically expensive suggesting the bull market for oil remains intact. And one thing you need to fuel growth if you are to claw out of recession/depression is energy ...
