It also gives Dominic Perrottet an extra 14k in stamp duty so the Libs can brag about their economic management.
Now that’s a scam. Probably not going to hurt somebody paying that kinda price, but for those moving out of their first home (perhaps growing family) and into something slightly bigger, the stamp duty is a total rip off.
And it’s not a case of ‘taxing the wealthy’. Most people have a mortgage so they are effectively borrowing the money to pay the tax.
Several years worth of repayments just to repay the tax.
Then we hear from the Libs how good they are at managing money. A monkey could manage the books with the amount of money the state receives from stamp duty.
