Article in AFR on Teoh this morning. Little snippet:
"David Teoh, Australia's most successful telecommunications entrepreneur of the past decade, is determined to shake up the broadband market with a 5G mobile offering that will be better value than fixed-line products running on the government owned NBN Co.Sceptics will say that is not a big ask given that NBN Co's network has been plagued with glitches and problems caused by ageing copper and cable networks that should have been replaced years ago.
A classic example of NBN failure is Telstra's decision to stop selling the NBN Co's 100megabit per second (Mbps) broadband plans for anyone using fibre-to-the-node (FTTN) or fibre-to-the-curb (FTTC) services.Telstra CEO Andy Penn told a 5G briefing last week the customer experience on the 100Mbps was bad because "the majority of that environment is not capable of providing that speed"."
