Trump wanted to own the US equity gains, when in reality the gains were due to irrational exuberance, stock buy-backs, record low interest rates, $1 TRILLION deficits, debt debt & more debt, and Fed money printing and debt monetisation.

Or to put it in your terms: greed, herd mentality and search for capital growth in a yield starved environment were the causes of the gains, not trump.

But to Trump and Trump cultists, when markets were rising it was all due to him.

Now markets are plummeting Trump blames everyone else: media, Fed, panic, Dems etc.
