big e - I believe news for Australians is still fairly good - we are a little remote from it all - and yes, there will be some infections, some people will die, could happen to me, although I hope not - but let's face it that's the fate of all humankind - so what? - the earth will go on turning.

I watched a bit of overseas news today, speak a bit of French, news there: local elections, images of voters handling voting papers with gloves - pump-type disinfectant bottles on voting tables, operators touching it before handing anything to 'voters' - etc. '

Greek news - don't understand a word - but it seems Europe will be helping with the refugee crisis instigated by Erdogan - watched Merkel and very personable Greek Prime Minister being very friendly - he speaks English very well - so that could mean there will be more unrest in Europe, but good to see that those people who have run from disaster to disaster - this time they are genuine Syrians who lost their homes - are not totally forsaken.

I had a post from an Austrian friend who can't understand why we Australians are so worried and he quoted exact infection figures for Australia (as were current yesterday) back to me. It's much much worse in Europe, plus mobility of people within and between countries cannot easily be checked and stopped.

I tried to purchase toilet paper yesterday - and hadn't stock-piled - none in Coles none in Woolworths - can't believe people are so stupid. Anyway remembered after war-times, when people did use newspapers as a matter of course - neatly cut and hung off a string - happened even in a workplace I worked at for a year, when I and my little family returned 'back home' because I had such a bad conscience vis-a-vis my Mum in particular. They were making heaps of money selling Forklift trucks and yet didn't supply toilet paper for their staff; my job was to translate English manuals and do the English correspondence.

Checked food supplies - not too many tins, but lots of preserved goodies from NoBoDe - still haven't opened what looks like a 2kg jar of Sauerkraut - probably not a good idea right now - haha! but have enough flour, dried noodles, beans, potatoes etc. to last me at least 2 months.

To blame the Chinese isn't really correct - I blame our interconnected world and our darn need to keep whizzing about in order to be 'entertained' - have you ever looked at a list of flight paths, worldwide, or sat at a busy airport? It is about time everyone took a breather IMO - and this one is enforced upon us by self-regulation etc.

I would be interested to see, if anyone is going to measure and check what our enforced frugality means in Co2 values etc.

    go well big e
