    I'm struggling to understand why people are pushing for the company to make an announcement.

    What exactly do you want them to say? "ANNOUNCEMENT: We're doing our job." Because then they'll get criticised for being "amateurs".

    I've no doubt that when they have something material to say, they'll let the market know, otherwise it's just an announcement for the sake of making an announcement.
