yes they would have to make a bid....and assuming that Dry hole John wants to keep running his company then he would need to do a deal to stop QGC taking him over......QGC would not want VPEs other assets, so a deal to get them of the register would likely be done....also QGC would want to move before VPE prove up reserves or they would have to pay significantly more....
