I'm no doctor, just based on my reading and listening to various medical experts.
There is no official figures re mortality rate, but as a generalisation considered to be around 10 times higher rate c.f. common flu (what's common?), and that rate is considered around 0.1% from what I've read. Obviously the death rate depends on various factors, such as age, any pre-existing lung or heart disease etc, therefore a higher rate for older people, particularly with pre-existing health issues.
Certainly the mortality rate is not 5% as an overall percentage of the population.
