    Yuyu52,

I believe in charging what the market will bear. Rationally or even irrationally but not in a situation of duress. This is what I have against doctors and specialists in particular.

I've never met one that charges AT the Medicare Schedule Fee for the type of service you need. Always above the schedule.

They charge more than the market can bear because patients (or should I call them paying customers) are under duress. You don't pay the fee you get sick(er) or don't get treatment you need.

You see a specialist in particular and you are always out of pocket. They should charge AT the medicare schedule not above it because this is what the government says the service is worth.

It's people's health and well being and they can be subjected to financial duress/blackmail just due to the need to seek quality medical attention.

Doctors don't exist simply to make a profit. Banks do. I could keep going yuyu52, but do you get the picture now?
