some months back during the takeover of SXP, a company bought a swag of shares at about 70c...l believe they based their or some of their portfolio on takeovers and hoping for a higher bidder knowing they couldn`t lose as the takeover price was set in concrete anyway.

Is this another company doing something similar, no intentions of taking over VPE....but realising that a takeover sooner or later will reward them a good profit and it will be above 20c. Tax free maybe??
