185 mt of JORC Compliant Coal Resource at Clinton

The Board of Directors of GulfX Limited (ASX: GLX), incorporating Syngas Energy Limited are pleased to announce the JORC compliant resource results from the first phase of the Company’s recently completed drilling program.
Details relating to the 185 million tonnes of JORC compliant resource at Clinton are provided in the attached Geologist's Clinton JORC Resource Announcement.
The JORC compliant resource figures for the subsequent two phases of drilling, at Whitwarta and Beaufort, are being worked on and are expected to be available shortly.

GulfX Limited holds Mineral Exploration Licence (MEL) 3896 which contains the Clinton, Beaufort and Whitwarta Tertiary lignite (brown coal) deposits within the Northern St Vincent Basin Coalfield.
MEL3896 covers an area of 288 sq km located 100 km north of Adelaide.
Past drilling data (for 215 drill holes in and around MEL 3896) was compiled in early 2008 and used to plan a JORC resource delineation drilling program. A total of thirty seven drill holes were drilled between June 2nd 2008 and September 9th 2008 by Tom Browne Drilling Services Pty Ltd across the Clinton, Beaufort and Whitwarta deposits. Geological supervision was provided by Geos Mining Mineral Consultants. Eleven drill holes were completed in the Clinton deposit. The drill hole spacing was approximately 1 kilometre and the holes were planned to both infill and to validate previous drilling data.
Geological, geophysical and laboratory quality data has been received from the 11 holes drilled at Clinton. Geos Mining has plotted and correlated the seams to confirm the continuity and quality of coal seams. Figure 1 shows the location of all drill holes used in the geological model. Volumes and qualities were estimated using Micromine software using cutoffs of 0.40 m for minimum seam thickness and 30% for maximum raw ash (dry basis). Coal quality values for the L seam were estimated from a polygonal model using length weighting. All other seam qualities were estimated from seam by seam three-dimensional block models using inverse distance weighting method.
For tonnage calculations, a raw coal density of 1.15 t/m³ was used for the L seam and 1.18 t/m³ for all other seams. In situ coal densities were derived by the lab using the measured air dried densities and the total moisture as received, measured on coal samples taken from hole CN002.
The Clinton deposit contains several seams, named (in ascending order) the L, M, MU, N, P and Q seams. Of these, the M and L seams constitute the bulk of the resources. The M and L seam resources average 5.6m and 3.7m thick respectively and exhibit substantial thickness

variation across the resource area (see Figures 2, 3 and 4). The M and L seam resources typically contain high total moisture, medium ash and high sulphur contents (see Tables 2, 3, 4 and 5).
The coal quality of the major seams has been assessed for the 11 drill holes and has been classified as brown coal (lignite). Geos Mining has estimated a JORC Compliant Indicated Resource totalling 138 million tonnes of brown coal and a JORC Compliant Inferred Resources totalling 47 million tonnes of brown coal in the Clinton deposit on the western part of MEL 3896, as defined in Table 1 below. This brings the total JORC Compliant Resource for the Clinton deposit to 185 million tonnes.
