I'm not being hypocritical, my stance is commonly known on this forum, its in text at the bottom of every post.
My point is that his friend, you or I for that matter, cannot say with 100% certainty, whether this company will become a financial success for its shareholder or not. If it were to be, then I imagine his friend would feel pretty shit about effectively taking that opportunity from him - If I had given the advice, I can tell you I would.
