One more thought; this tweet got methinking:
The Aussie Trader (@TheATrader)21/3/20, 9:47 am Take a look at each of the big 4 Aussie bank charts during GFC and what happened within 12-18 months following. You could just about set and forget a portfolio of bank only stocks if we hit those lows again. Curiously WBC & NAB have already done so and with incredible speed.
mmm so Thought I would glance at the banks with an overriding thought; at the end of this IF the BIG 4 (maybe only 3 or 2 who knows) BUT if the banking sector DOES NOT coome out of this and SP's recover it sort of means "lights out" sort of stuff. So if you believe in a future for Oz (the western world?/ the way we live / the WHOLE world? then its is likely that banks have to recover. On the reverse if they dont recover than having cash in the bank may be no better than having their shares???
Share Fall from ATH (%age) Fall from ATH (%age) 12 month performance from GFC low (%age) Performance from GFC low & Years to recover Years to recover previous ATH 1 GFC Now (%age, x years) 2 3 CBA 61 37 150 300 in 6 years 1 ` 4 5 Nab 60 51 96 150 in 6 years still waiting 6 7 ANZ 62 51 123 214 in 6 years 5 8 9 WBC 54 52 97 178 in 6 years 4
So what?
IF OZ/world system not totally broken after all this then worth throwing some SERIOUS $$$$ at the banks.
