@eshmun is simply giving an opinion. Time will judge all of our views, in the interim we can respect differing views. I come from the same train of thought that says the markets have much further to fall and companies will be savagely re-rated if their earnings don't support their SP. No more punting on the future, simply a flight to quality.
NST do no not have the earnings to support their current SP and are just damn lucky that the cards of external elements have have fallen in their favour - i.e. high POG and low AUD. These superficially improve their mining performance as their AISC continue to rise (except at POGO where I seriously think smoke and mirrors have been used for production costs to reduce by 50% in a quarter). For all the forward thinkers - think about where NST SP is on a (generous) PE of 20 coupled with the POG falling and the AUD improving. The number is less than half of today's SP. All stakeholders have to consider both sides of the coin - now is not the time to risk what has taken us mums and dads many years to build.
