The Word that was God became flesh. -> INCORRECT, Part of Yahweh God's word is what became flesh Eph 3:9, the hidden mystery,hid IN God, plan known as logos and Glory is what became flesh.
And, as per John 1:3, the word, other parts of God's plans, Word produced the Gens creation.
The Word became Jesus, he did not enter an existing body.
Part of the Word, expressed via God to the Angel and given to Mary, producing the flesh of Jesus.
Jesus is going to show you as a liar, or show that your totally blinded, deluded - John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me,he doeth the works.
In John 17:1-3, Jesus identifies the Father as the ONLY True God.
So Jesus confirms that the God and Father, the Almighty God and Father, WAS dwelling IN Him.
The Almighty God and Father is the Spirit Holy, Word -> the Word and light, the true light which dwelt in Jesus (the Temple) without measure, by his Baptism timing when he was then sent into the world.
John 1:14 And the Word (Eph 3:9) flesh became and Tabernacled IN (among) us and we beheld the GLORY of him..............
The Glory of him = The Word = the word of God that he was Given.
John 17:22 - And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:
The only way you can be one as they are one is to accept and abide in the word = the word of God.
Jesus defines "the word" as meaning, the word of God in Luke 8:12-13.
And that, the word was in the beginning with God = Eph 3:9, 1 Tim 1:9 etc and as it was Hid in God, His OWN purpose = John 1:1.....and GOD (not Jesus) was the Word.
1:2 The same, this, it Eph 3:9, 1 Tim 1:9 was in the beginning with God.
Hence, 1:4 In Him (God) life was...........Eph 3:9 and this life (his logos, word) is the light of men Psa 119:105.

God, His Spirit, and the Holy Spirit are ALL in reference to one in the same = Yahweh the Almighty God and Father dwelling in you as one, as in SINGULAR, as in One Apple.
And through his Spirit, the Holy Spirit which he is, Jesus is able to come and dwell in one as well, with, through the aid of God's Spirit.
I think you maybe referencing the verse below
of Jesus coming to his own temple in Jerusalem
I am thinking NO such thing, that verse Mal 3:1 shows us quite clearly, WHAT to expect when John hits the seen or WHAT to first expect the message as in the Book of John to FIRST be about and WHO = The Almighty God and Father, Yahweh.
John was at first to prepare the way for him, make the path straight, the home truths of what already was and existed before the SUDDEN appearance of Jesus.
The Book of John does exactly this, the first 13 Verses are all about Yahweh and then the sudden mention, appearance of Jesus, first time in 1:14.
Jesus is God in the flesh. ->
That is CLEARLY NOT what Jesus is saying above in John 14:10.

Effectively, the following is the prelude, stage being set for John 1:14, KEEP in mind what I have already covered of 1:14, Meaning of Glory etc.
Ex 40:34 - Then a cloud (Spirit)covered the tent (Temple) of the congregation, and the glory (the Word) of Yahweh filled the tabernacle.
1:14 They beheld the Glory (the Word) of him -> Temple (Jesus), which He was given John 12:49, 17:22 etc
1:14 is telling you, pretty much exactly what John 14:10 is telling you.
Accept now in 1:14, we have a Temple not built with hands.
