    Hi Tosca,

    A simple explanation could be that people are scared, cashing in their shares and withdrawing their holdings in hedge funds etc.

    There is therefore a concerted need for cash, and hence a supply/demand push behind the $'s 'value'.

    Once their cashing in/withdrawing funds activity is complete, the US$ should (will) revert closer to it's true 'value'.

    This suggestion is not my own thinking, but makes sense to me. It was raised in some article I read in the very early hours today, but the name of author/title of article/website I found it on escapes me.
