The Australian Government is attempting to strike a balance between peoples livelihoods and peoples lives.
Their flatten the curve mantra means they have decided that the same number of people will get the virus, just spread out over time so that health services aren't overwhelmed.
They don't want to go the nuclear option to reduce infections and deaths by going into complete lock down.
I guess that the PM doesn't want that to be discussed.
Maybe things like requisitioning hotels and calling for volunteer workers to stay on premises with infected people are a step too far.
