Short selling has got nothing to do with this mess. If you look around there are some serious problems in the finance sector and projects like BMN have little to no chance of getting any type of money to get the project going. Furthermore the carry trade and Australia high interest has attracted overseas funds that are now pulling out to pay their debts in Tokyo (probably margin calls).
We can thank the Banks for this mess
