Pandemic situation in Italy has been improving bit by bit during the past 3 days and it appears that things are going to settle down in next few weeks hopefully and all this will be behind us.
When ASX closed at 4pm, WBC closed at $15.36 but during the closing single price auction WBC traded 49c higher to end the day at $15.85 as there was more demand than supply during the closing auction. WBC price increased by 3.2% during the auction. This sharp increase was due to the news that US$2 Trillion Coronanvirus stimulus bill is finally going to be passed after marathon negotiations.
Asian markets have gone berserk after this news came out. SPI futures were at 4,892 at 4pm and have jumped up to 5,100 now.
