Anyone who is taking an ARB (angiotensin receptor blocker) or an ACE Inhibitor (angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor) to control hypertension might want to read the opening post in the following thread:

    https://hotcopper.com.au/threads/covid-%E2%80%93-19-update-ace-inhibitors.5302006/
    Link to the original article:

These two classes of drugs are commonly prescribed to older people.

Covid-19 infection involves the angiotensin 2 receptors in the lungs and elsewhere.

The post also refers to the following report which has a table headed:
_ "Most common comorbidities observed in COVID-19 positive deceased patients"

    https://www.epicentro.iss.it/coronavirus/bollettino/Report-COVID-2019_20_marzo_eng.pdf

The highest is hypertension rated at 73.8%, well above the second highest diabetes at 33.9%.
That doesn't necessarily prove anything since many older people have hypertension but it's worth noting.
