No way, the single biggest failure was letting it onto our island.
Back in late January there were still masks to be found but they had become scarce. In my area I spoke to chemists who said their entire stock was bought on the Australia Day weekend, the buyers were of non-Australian parentage. Not being racist, simply telling it as it was. I feel no ill will towards whoever they were doing that out of fear or to help back home. But, it should have been restricted and I wonder whether stock was gathered for resale elsewhere. Sale of personal protective equipment should have been restricted to official outlet to undercut that market.
