You keep pretending that we are going to replace fossil with renewables tommorrow. You conveniently forget to mention that renewables are increasing progressively around the world. 20% in Australia. 30+% in Germany and the UK. 50% in South Australia. Year on year, renewables are taking more of the load from the old fossil generators that are becoming more unreliable.
Won't be too long and we'll have a few big storage projects on the go and renewables will really start to have an effect. Renewables are already that successful in Australia that we have to curtail them.
They are making too much power, emission free !
You seem to also ignore the fact that the Portland Smelter has been running off the SA grid ( 50% renewable ) since the interconnector failed in late January. A 500mw smelter that has been running off brown coal for 25 years.
I see you're trying the hospital renewable energy distraction again. Conveniently not mentioning that more and more hospitals are powered by renewables every day around the world.
As for back up power for hospitals. Remember that conversation about UPS's for critical equipment ?
What is the critical component of a UPS that keeps power supply going during a blackout ? It wouldn't be a battery, would it ?
