I think the china cut back will hurt the other juniors with poorer quality iron and iron substitutes such as mineral sands and vanadium. Also I think it is a ploy by the steel mills to get iron ore prices down.

Global markets/economies are down at the moment but just remember that it was just a few months ago many analysts were predicting a rise in iron ore prices of 10-20%. See how quickly things change.

I for one am happy to ride out the down turn. Some doomsday idiots are predicting the end of the world and the US will go back to the stone age for 15 years.

As long as UMC keeps the good news coming and don't burn too much cash then interest in the stock will come back.
