hmmm.... Well if you believe politicians say which alot of Australians dont this new policy of guaranting bank deposits could backfire and create a panic and an even bigger run on bank deposits.

I think the better strategy would have to done this when a bank was about to go bankrupt. Now the banks have a free pass to go on playing speculators in the international money market. Geeezzzz

At least we are in a good, better position than other banks, no wonder! Australian banks gouge the ordinary customers like no other banks.
