I think every one looked to the Japanese model and figured their society did not break down to a mayhem, looting or just outright lawlessness, so it was OK.
You are smart to see this and got out of equity but you could be correct that the system will implode. If it implodes, I don't think there is a safe asset class to hide including cash. I take the view it is a buying opportunity, not sure exactly what signal to look for. Either early or late have their consequences.
