Only 4 weeks or so to interim results. Personally I'd expect reporting for the period to be quite strong but with lots of Covid-19 related warnings on the outlook and an increase in bad debt provisions.
If I were them I'd be inclined to keep some powder dry with a prudent reduction in dividend to as little as 50cents. It's a time for prudence, not largesse.
Increasing provisions and reducing the dividend would also have the desirable side effect of reducing or eliminating headlines around obscene bank profits.
Thoughts?
