Absolutely! The Chinese don't care about killing their own. Why would they care about them being exploited for cheap labour? And our pollies are absolutely to blame. I always thought it was that other useless Malcolm who signed the Lima agreement that started the rot. But In 1975, the Whitlam government signed the United Nations Lima Declaration, through which the Australian government sold out Australian industries and workers by specifically agreeing to transfer manufacturing to Third World countries, supposedly to help them develop. I am surprised that unions have let this happen. Hasn't helped us at all and in an increasingly worse way every year. So much more foodstuff is imported now. I do not want my food made in China or any other country that does not have the same regulations and health standards to abide by as our companies here. How can that be fair or beneficial to Australia? There should at least be tariffs so that they are the same price in the stores, not less. But no.Hopefully this latest catastrophic disaster may bang a few heads to thinking about how best to unwind from this ridiculous situation we are now in where we have come to rely so heavily on a country with totally different standards to our own in so many ways.
