    More specifically, cinnamoylguanidine is typical of these types of drugs. It has been demonstrated to inhibit ion channeling within coronavirus voroporins. Without ion channeling, viral replication cannot occur. BIT036 is of this type and has proven successful in vitro for inhibiting ion channel activity in human coronaviruses (see my post of earlier today).
