Re: 21 million subscribers dropping off.

I have mentioned before I have a daughter returned from Shanghai currently in isolation.

I was thinking about her phone use. She has been using a month to month data sim as 95% of communications is done using WeChat, as well as payment functions etc.

She was teaching and all interactions were via data. She also travelled extensively internationally and global roaming were all included.

Since she has been home, as she is isolation for another 5 days she is happy to stay with that.

But many residential places there have free internet or broadband internet at home. if you are in lockdown in Hubei for 2 months, you don't have a telephone number to maintain, why would you renew a prepaid data sim when you can access wifi broadband?

Do I need as much data now that for 95% of the time I am sitting on my couch looking at my Broadband wifi connector flashing at me?

Once they leave lockdown they could just restart their plan therefore 21 million is understandable.

In Australia, 3-4 suppliers. Everyone suffers if this effect in transferable which I doubt it is as much. Telstra maybe not as much. if everyone is hurting then given so few suppliers, then competition will reduce and then margins will increase. (hopefully)
